The First Word of God conveyed by Risby:
Luke 19: 1-10:
1.Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
2.Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
3.And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.
4.So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.
5.And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
6.So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully.
7.But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.”
8.Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.”
9.And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham;
10.for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Zacchaeus was a wealthy head tax collector at that time while Lord Jesus was a very famous figure, so Zacchaeus really wanted to meet Lord Jesus but because of his short stature he had difficulty meeting God but he did not give up so he climbed a fig tree and therefore Lord Jesus saw Zacchaeus’ faith, even though it was small. God answered Zacchaeus’ faith so that He wanted to stay with Zacchaeus so that his joy was full. So we can learn like the faith of Zacchaeus, who even though he was small, but eventually met the miracles of God. Maybe, we are all like Zacchaeus that it seems that we don’t deserve to meet God like a prodigal son, so remember this God’s Word that because God loves the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, so believe that God loves us very much even though we failed a lot and did mistakes. A little faith can make a very big thing. As God changed Zacchaeus, God also wants to change our lives into new ones.

Matthew 8: 14-17:
14.Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.
15.So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them.
16.When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick,
17.that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”[b]
We have heard that because of the faith of Peter’s mother-in-law, she was cured, so believe that God can also heal all of our diseases, they could be migraines, ulcers, even Covid 19. Our Lord is able to heal because He has not changed yesterday, today and forever.
