The service of PMPPKN (Indonesian Christian Student and Youth Fellowship) was held again on Friday, December 4, 2020. It was a live-streaming service that was aired through Facebook (PMPPK Nasional) and Instagram (Zona Anak Tuhan). The Word of God was delivered by Dony Doa and Basril Tarigan, taken from John 14:27 and Matthew 8:14-17.
John 14:27,
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
We will celebrate Christmas again this December. It is a moment when Jesus, the Prince of Peace, came to this world. This Christmas is different from our previous Christmas because we cannot gather together with our loved ones due tothe pandemic situation. However, the Word of God says, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Don’t be sad and lose peace because there is Jesus who gives us peace and the peace that God gives is not what the world gives.
Maybe there are many activities that we do during this pandemic, but they can make us bored and lose our joy. Maybe we really miss the moments when we were able to get together with our friends. However, there must be a purpose of God in this pandemic situation. Even though we should celebrate Christmas without friends or families, but we can reflect on the true meaning of Christmas. The Lord, the Prince of Peace, was willing to come to this world, gave His life to atone for our sins. He was hung on the cross to bear our sins and save us. He was risen from the death and went to heaven to prepare place for us. God wants to give us peace and the peace that God has given cannot be replaced by anything, in whatever circumstances we are or whatever the problems we experience, we can still have the peace of God.
Donny Doa invited those who wanted to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. He led them in a prayer of salvation. He also prayed for those who wanted to offer up their lives to be used as God’s servants and those who wanted to renew their commitment to serve God.
The service proceeded by Basril Tarigan. He preached about the healing power in Jesus. He preached the Word of God from Matthew 8:14-17 “Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and serve]them. When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”
Jesus was willing to come to this helpless person and healed her. If you don’t have strength to face your problems or sicknesses, probably your sickness is incurable. Have faith in Jesus. Matthew 8: 17 says, “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” Jesus died on the cross so that we maybe freed from our weaknesses and illnesses. Let us come to God and believe that God will heal us. If you are suffering from headache, heart problems, or even covid-19 , lay your hand on the part of the body that is sick and have faith that by Jesus’ stripes we are healed.Basril prayed for those who were sick and closed the service in prayer. Praise be to God who had blessed many lives today. Amen.
