A service of PMPPKN (Indonesian Christian Student and Youth Fellowship)was held again on Friday, September 18, 2020. The service waslive streamed through Facebook (PMPPK Nasional) and Instagram (Zona Anak Tuhan) on The Word of God was delivered by Imelda Veramikha and Rikayanti Gultom, taken from Ephesians 6:10 and John 5: 1-9.
The service was opened with prayer by Imelda, then she delivered the Word of God, taken from Ephesians 6:10 (NKJV)“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Maybe in times like these, we get bored and in a bad mood since it has been almost seven months we have to stay at home and have to join our school and college virtually. Maybe are our parents sometimes fight at home and it makes us uncomfortable or even annoyed. However, one thing that we must remember is that there is Christ who is able to help us. If we have a problem, don’t run from God, instead we should come to Christ.
How can we be strong in Christ? We can be strong in Christ by diligently reading God’s Word. Wealso have to pray if we face problems for God will definitely provide solutions if we believe in Him. Do not pull yourself away from God. Even though we are bored because of many problems, but one thing we have to remember is that God will definitely help us. We are not alone for there isJesus who gives us strength every day.
The preaching of the Word of God was continued by Rika. She delivered the Word of God from John 5: 1-9 (NKJV) After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.
We can imagine the age of this man. He had been suffering for thirty-eight years. Can you imagine how he felt? It must have felt very painful suffering for thirty-eight years and no one seemed to care about him. However, he faithfully waited at Bethesda’s pool and he experienced a miracle.
No one cared about him, but he remained faithfulwaiting at the pool of Bethesda, until one day Jesus came to this man and askedhim “Do you want to be made well? Then, this paralyzed man told Jesus what he had experienced. Jesus knew what he had experienced and He healed him. Jesus also asked us the same questions today, “Do you want to be made well?Do you want to be free from all the problems that you experinece? The good news that when we come to God and tell Him the problems that we are facing, then God will surely help and heal us. Amen.
