Live-streaming service of PMPPKN (Indonesian Christian Student and Youth Fellowship (PMPPKN) was held again on Friday, August 14, 2020 on Facebook and Instagram. The Word of God was delivered by Sister Junita Hutasoit, taken from Deuteronomy 31: 8.
Deuteronomy 31: 8, “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” (NKJV)
When Joshua replaced Moses bringing the Israelites to the Promised Land, maybe at that time Joshua had doubts about how to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt, but God helped them.
Maybe some of you are worried, afraid, or have doubts about God’s presence or maybe at this time the conditions you are facing are not comfortable, even having to go to college or online school, but believe that God does not leave us. Believe that God will help you, no matter how hard the problems you face, keep your trust in God.
If this Word of God comes to us tonight, then be to us this Word of God. Will we believe that God will never leave us? There is God who is with us because He says that there is nothing to fear us because God Himself is with us. The same God who was with Joshua and brought the Israelites to the Promised Land is the same God who will be with us.
The preaching of the Word of God was continued by Sister Wanty which was taken from Matthew 8: 1-3. We have heard God’s Word that we are not alone; there is Lord Jesus who is with us for 24 hours, so we don’t need to be afraid. Matthew 8: 1-3 tells about Jesus healing a man with leprosy.
We know that a person with leprosy suffers not only physically, but also psychologically because they are shunned, isolated, and ostracized. We can imagine how much suffering this leper man was going through, but he chose to come to God and believe that Jesus was able to heal him. Therefore, not only did he come near, but he also bowed down to worship Jesus. He came to God bravely. If you currently have struggles and illnesses, believe that there is God who is able to heal you.
What was Jesus’ response when He saw this leper man approaching Him? Jesus stretched out His hand and this leper man was healed. This is good news for us that Jesus wants to heal us. All we need to do is to have faith in God and He will heal us. If we have faith in Jesus and cry out to Him, miracles will happen and He will heal us.
