The service of PMPPKN (Indonesian Christian Student and Youth Fellowship) was held again on Monday, September 21, 2020. The service was live-streamed through Facebook (PMPPK Nasional) and Instagram (Zona Anak Tuhan). The Word of God was delivered by Evy Margareta and Mabella Zefanya, taken from Matthew 7:7-11 and Matthew 20:29-34.
Matthew 7:7-11 (NKJV) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
We have a good Father who loves us. He is the Father who hears what we ask for. Whatever the struggles we are facing these days, God wants to give us what we ask of Him.Our earthly father is kind and knows how to he give good gifts to us. How much more with our Father who is in heaven. Therefore, we don’t need to doubt, be ashamed, or worry if we havestruggles. We have to come to the Father by believing and asking Him for all our desires and struggles. As the Word of God says “Ask, and it will be given to you.”However, we don’t just ask, but we have to seek God’s Word.
When we need a pencil to write, of course we will look for the pencil until we get it. We will try to find it everywhere, in supermarkets, bookstores, or anywhere. Likewise with us, if we have a struggle or need for God, then we must seek God until we find Him. Our Father is a good Father who will give everything our heart desires, as long as it is a good thing, not with wrong motives. How happy it is to know that we have a very good Father. Therefore, we should rejoice even more in God. We must have lives that truly seek God and surrender our lives to God.
The preaching of the Word of God continued by Mabella Zefanya, taken from Matthew 20:29-34 about Two Blind Men Receive Their Sight.
Matthew 20:29-34 (NKJV) “Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.”
These blind people have never seen Jesus for they were blind. However, they heard that Jesus was a healer. Therefore, when Jesus passed by, they cried out to Jesus “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” Although people tried to stop them, they cried out even more to God until Jesus stopped and spoke to them and He healed them.
Maybe today, some of us are going through a struggle. Perhaps you have a headache or your family membersare sick and don’t know what else to do. However, the good news is that our God is a good God and is able to heal us. Maybe we have cried and prayed day and night and we have been praying for weeks, but there seems to be no answer. He is a good Father who hears our prayers.
Keep crying to God like these two blind men. Call on the Lord Jesus and never stop crying out to Him because He sees our faith. We should seek and knock, then we will get.If you are sick at the moment, lay your hands on the part of the body that is sick or on the family member who is sick. Come to the Lord and pray with faith.
